Pato BANTON http://www.myspace.com/patobanton (Birmingham, England, Roots Reggae) Grammy Nominated artist offering spiritual, conscious, uplifting reggae to the World. Patrick Murray was born in London in 1961, and moved to Birmingham when he was 8. The house in which they lived became the local night spot during the weekends and Pato worked his way up from working on the door at the age of 9, to setting up and operating the sound system by the age of 13. By the age of 15 he started to gain his grounding in music on his stepfathers’ sound system called V-Rocket. Patrick would stay up all night entertaining the masses and was given the name Patoo by his stepfather. (The name derives from a small night owl in Jamaica, that stays up all night, calling “patoo, patoo.”)

 

SHINEHEAD SHINEHEAD  (ENGLAND, JAMAICA, NEW YORK R & B DANCEHALL REGGAE)

 Edmund Carl Aitken a.k.a. Shinehead was born in England, moved to Jamaica in his early years, but was raised primarily in New York where his family settled down in the mid-seventies. In the eighties Shinehead started working with the Sound Systems Down Beat International and African Love where he made his reputation as a very talented deejay, singer and rapper. Shinehead has become one of the most influential US-based reggae artists, often mixing Jamaican dancehall with modern R&B and Hip-Hop. Performing on

CASPER LOMAYESVA & THE 602 REGGAE BAND  (HOPI LAND, AZ; HOPI NATIVE REGGAE) Casper Lomayesva is a young Hopi singer who has created a sound that combines his native roots with the positive vibes of Reggae music. Casper’s music is filled with hope and power. The words are a reflection of his own philosophy on life, influenced not only by the sounds of crucial Reggae music, but of traditional Hopi Native American culture.

RICKY HUSBANDS  (GUYANA, BRAZI, SOUTH AMERICA; ROOTS FUSION REGGAE) Spiritual Doctor, Ricky Husbands administers healing music for the Mind and Spirit. Born in Georgetown, Guyana of Caribbean immigrants, his introduction to music was through the Church. Although Gospel music awakened the urge to perform, his Love of Reggae music’s and the Messages of Bob Marley led him to use his special blends of SOCA, Samba Reggae with his own messages of spiritual healing to All who would listen.

 

ERROLL BLACKWOOD (Jamaica, Toronto, Canadia; Roots Reggae) Born in Accompong (Maroon) Hills of Jamaica and raised in Canada. In 1980, Errol formed Messenjah, along with Ray Ruddock and Rupert Harvey and although he now performs solo his search to spread the message of unity and peace. His music is an influence of Jamaican folk song (digging songs) gospel music, country and funk. Errol's conscious writing it is quite pleasant and kind of eerie that he sounds so much like Bob Marley's voice lyrics, etc. Winner of the Juno Canadian Music Award. (Canada's version of the Grammy)

 

Rascalin and the Roots Rockers (Bocas del Toro, San Clemente, and CA. Roots Rock Reggae) Rascalin, breathes new life and perspective into the classic sounds of Reggae.  Because of his love for the guitar, rock, reggae music and Jimi Hendrix, RasCclin has perfected and found his on space in the world of music. Rascalin grew up in Bocas del Toro, a small Caribbean island off the northern coast of Panama, where poor Jamaican, Spanish and Asian  workers migrated after the completion of the Panama canal. GEIL GEIL  (TRINIDAD & TABAGO, FLORIDA; SOUL-HIP-HOP FUSION REGGAE) GIEL, a South Miami born 2nd generation West Indian who has manage to pull quite a following. Her range of styles & talent are surprisingly match by her amiable Aura. GEIL pronounced Ji-L, is one of the new rising R & B Caribbean Fusion Stars, in the same mold as RHANNA, but has song styling and performs like Joan Armtrading. Great voice and delivers each song with a lot of Passion for someone so young.

A "Jamaican" as some may say, most feedback from listeners say Marquis Melody has the sound of a "Marley" but with his own uniquely different style.

LJ Blasé (New Orleans, LA) L J Blasé has been the Tour's MC for the main stage for 14 years. One of the best at keeping the crowd aware of the Performers, Vendors and Sponsors. His main purpose at the Festival is to keep the crowd hyped and excited to see each of the performers he brings to the stage.

 

ManaPoly All-Stars ManaPoly All-Stars  (Utah, Ca., Philippines; island style Dance hall R&B Fusion REGGAE) If you remember the popular Pop R & B group of the eighties the JETS, then you will find it no suprise that MPAS as they are known, is a fun family style act. With Polynesian roots, their music and performance really make's you feel happy and ready to party with them as they perform.

 

THE DAVID WADE BAND THE DAVID WADE BAND  (MESA, AZ; POP-SKA-ROCK FUSION REGGAE) Long time Rock Reggae journeymen David Wade, decided to form a band under his own name. Not because he could not find another name, as he has as used many in the past when forming a new band. He just felt it was time that people knew the driving force behind many of Arizona great worldbeat alternative acts for over 10 years. David's music is full of energy with a rock Funk balance. Like the other Dave, I can only warn Fans get set to go on a positive music trip.

 

RAS INDIO (BELMOPAN, BELIZE; ROOTS REGGAE) The Prophet from Belize as RAS INDO is often called, opens the Festival in most cities as he comes to spread the words of Cultural Unity and Blessing for every Fan. Energetic to the point that gets Fans caught up in the vibes, which they feel compelled to join a long in his jumping and dancing around the stage. Great way to start off the Festival and a must see performer.

 

HENRY TURNER JR. & FLAVOR HENRY TURNER JR. & FLAVOR (BATON ROUGE, LA; GUMBO FUSION REGGAE) This long tine veteran of the Louisiana music scene has made it his personal goal to help raise relief funds for the people in his home state by touring throughout the country on his self produced Louisiana Musician Hurricane Relief Tour. The Flavors on Brand of Gumbo Reggae is just down to the bone funky and besides it feels s good to help!
