Statement of Reason for
The Annual Bob Marley Festival Name Change

Over Twenty years ago Sirron Kyles created a concept to produce a Caribbean style Festival that would focused on making others aware of other cultures and people of all races. Sirron used the event as a fundraiser to help those organizations that provide for those in need.

Realizing that the late Bob Marley's messages of Peace, Love and Unity and the Rastafarian beliefs stood for the same cause he founded the Annual Bob Marley Festival Tour.

In the early 1990's Rita Marley formed Bob Marley Music Inc. to provide a means to license Bob Marley's name and likeness as well as other related Bob Marley music or products.

Sirron Kyles and Bob Marley Inc. worked an out agreement that would allow Sirron to continue producing the Tour over the next 10 years. Sirron Kyles also set up the Miami Bob Marley Festival in 1994 & 1995 for Mrs. Booker, Bob Marley's mother, under the same agreement with the Bob Marley Inc Foundation.

At the first Festival in Miami FL. Which was produced utilizing the concept Sirron Kyles created, Rita Marley indicated to Sirron that she felt that what he was doing was great and to keep up the good work. Ms. Booker, Bob Marley's mother also stated that "No matter what others may try to do…keep the Festival going" for she knew that he and the Festival, was one of the highest honor paid to her son Bob".

Outside of his music, The Annual Bob Marley Festival Tour has been the most significance driving force in keeping the legacy of Bob Marley alive around the world.
