Statement (Continued)...

In 2001 Rita Marley turned over the portion of the business related to the licensing of Bob's name and likeness to Bob's children who had formed the Fifty Six Hope Street Foundation.

After extensive negotiations Sirron & Fifty Six Hope Street could not agree on terms and fees that would secure the licensing rights to the Bob Marley name and likeness and allow Sirron to continue to produce the Festival under the name and concept that he created and has produced for over seventeen years.

The concept and the structure of The Festival were to accept donations for admission. The given donation fees and small admission fees cannot support the licensing fees that Fifty Six Hope Street is requesting. Nor did the agreement include the rights to do a Tour T-shirt or other related promotional items which carried the name and likeness of Bob Marley.
Upon completion of these negotiations, Sirron decided to act on something that he had been contemplating over the prior 2 years. He decided to change the name of the Tour to reflect what the Bob Marley Festival was originally created for and that was to focus on and bring about awareness and understanding of the Rastafarian Movement and Peace and Unity for which was Bob Marley's beliefs.

The new name will now allow sponsor's who did not want to be a part of the Festival due to the stance that Bob Marley had in reference to using marijuana to be involved. Sponsors did not want to appear that they condoned the use of the sacrament used and promoted by Bob Marley.

The new name of the Festival Tour is the Annual Legends Rasta Reggae Festival Tour. The Tour is committed to focusing on the understanding of the Rastafarian way of life and their beliefs of
One World, One Peace, One Love and Peace and Unity.

Bob Marley's name and likeness or any other rights associated with his name remains available for licensing through the Fifty Six Hope Street Foundation for anyone that wishes to pay the huge licensing fee set by the new foundation.
The Annual Legends of Rasta Reggae Festival Tour, formally the Annual Bob Marley Festival Tour, thanks you for all your continue support for what is now the longest running Festival Tour in the World. If you have an interest in bringing the Tour stop to your area please contact me.

Thank You

Founder/Executive Producer
